Erik Markovsky is a multi-instrumentalist, percussionist, composer and teacher with more than 20 years of stage experience and 15 years of teaching. He plays more than 30 drums and percussion instruments; the core of his sound is frame drums, darbuka, daf and handpan, combined with electronics and live looping.

He works in world fusion, bringing together the techniques, rhythms and musical approaches of the Middle East, Turkey, India, Persia, Central Asia, Africa and Latin America into his own musical language. A professional improviser, he plays solo concerts and performs with other musicians without rehearsal.

Composer of the music for the performance “DÖR” — Golden Mask 2023 nomination for Best Work of a Composer in Musical Theatre. He writes music for theatre and contemporary dance: “Sak-Sok”, “Wild Child”, and the performance “Ak Tash” in the adits near the Yuryevskaya cave. He recorded compositions together with the band Therr Maitz and performed them on the main stage of the International Youth Festival, broadcast on Channel One Russia (2026), has performed on India’s national TV channel DD National and at the New Wave festival, and assembled the team and created the music for the BRICS summit.

He studied with masters of world percussion, including Glen Velez (USA), Zohar Fresco (Israel) and Misirli Ahmet (Turkey). Founder of the Erik Markovsky Academy, with more than 1,000 students worldwide. Trained as an educational psychologist (Kazan Federal University).
